Lauren W. Scotto is an artist living and working in Woonsocket, RI. She received her BFA in Illustration in 2005 and her MAT in 2006 from the Rhode Island School of Design.  She grew up in Smithfield, RI, where her interest in making art was nurtured in a creative household, and encouraged by dedicated art teachers throughout her early education. In addition to her studio practice, she currently works as an art teacher herself, instructing advanced courses to high school students in Cumberland.  She feels the marriage of artist and teacher feeds her passion for both; the constant creating of her own work keeps her teaching fresh and energetic, and the reward of guiding and pushing her students fuels her personal growth in the studio.
